Join us for a poet vs poet Halloween Poetry Slam! Giveaways, local vendors, and a costume contest!
Spotlight Poetry Slam Rules:
- Head Vs Head : This slam will be a 1 on 1 competition! Only 8 Poets will compete in the slam. Sign-ups are first come first serve (so be there early, poets!) Three minute poem per poet each bout.
- Meet Your Fate : The first 8 poets signed up will then be split into two groups of 4. Each group will randomly choose a letter A – D. The poets with matching letters will compete against each other for the first round. The same method will be used for all three rounds.
- Don’t Catch Any Boo’s : Judges will score poets on a scale of 0 – 10, 10 being the highest. Only the poet with the highest score will move forward. If a poet goes over time they will lose .5 off their total score for that round.
- To The Grave : Only the poet with the highest score in their bout will more onto the next round and send the other poet to the grave. Poets that are sent to the grave will officially be out of the running to win the $100 cash prize.
Heads Will Roll Costume Contest:
Come dressed in your best Halloween fit.Costume contest sign ups opens at 7:00 PM and closes at 8:00 PM.Best costume will receive $50 cash prize!
